The "Wow Factor" is the part or aspect of your college application that signifies what's unique about you and how you embrace this uniqueness through active involvement in activities. For instance, say that you are passionate in equality in the workplace and you are actively participating in a club or organization that shares the same passion that you have. You would highlight this in your application by explaining how your involvement in particular activities has helped strengthen your passion for this cause and how you have made an impact in your school, community and/or society. Additionally, you can highlight how your racial identity and/or background has influenced your involvement and future aspirations.

Highlighting these particular aspects in your college applications will show the college admissions committees how well-rounded you are and how you are more than just a smart student. Universities want to find students who offer unique perspectives and are self-driven. Expressing your WOW Factor in your college applications will make you a top choice for your desired universities.

The "Wow Factor" is dedicated to highlighting how high school students can express their uniqueness in character and involvement to their desired universities. Apart from academics and extracurricular, this feature of your application will heavily emphasize your character and unique individuality. This will be expressed in sections of your application such as your personal statement. This is one of the four components of the Black Up Plan.
